Dan Alderson Director of Energy Assistance for ATMOS Energy & NEUAC Entertained Guest in Phoenix AZ for a good cause…

atmos

AS you’ll know I’m always happy to spin a rope for a good cause, and this past weekend I had the chance to work with Daniel Alderson the Director of Energy Assistance for ATMOS Energy and now also NEUAC for almost 20 years. Some years ago Dan and I were in the Rodeo Association (NHSRA) togeather and this past week I got the chance to take center stage with Dan at the Convention in Phoenix AZ at the Sheraton Grand. With over 750 guests Dan and I talked about the 2019 convention and we invited everyone to attend in Texas at the OMNI Convention Center.

I spun a few loops and I got to having fun on stage with Dan, and I stated if everyone showed up at next year’s convention in 2019,  Id get Dan on the back of Bucking Bull. And as an after thought if I can’t get a live Bull which I may but if not I will bring in an electric Bull and tie him on. I have no doubt Dan can cover a bout any Bull one time for 8 seconds but its not the ride I’m figuring will get him, but the sudden stop when he hits the ground. Dan and I don’t recover like we use to but if he rids one Ill do the same.

Atmos Energy Corporation, headquartered are in Dallas one of the country’s largest natural-gas-only distributors, serving over three million natural gas distribution customers in over 1,400 communities in eight states from the Blue Ridge Mountains in the East to the Rocky Mountains in the West.

mmmmm

Dan has the characteristics and represents white hat wearing good guy cowboy. Like the cowboys of old west who were called upon to help those pioneers travel west, Dan stands strong taking on DC in getting the assistance needed to help those who need it most.

A benefit for Muskogee kidney patient Chris Watson will be at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Entertainment includes Muskogee country-western singer Maddie K. Parks and trick roper Marty Tipton, “The Oklahoma Kid.”
A Shawnee resident, Tipton describes himself as a fourth-generation lasso-spinning artist with family ties to Will Rogers. According to his website, Tipton has been performing since he was 9 years old and has toured from New York to Los Angeles.

Tipton said he enjoys performing for benefits.
Saturday’s event also will feature a silent auction, which includes an acoustic guitar, a Baby Lock BL9 sewing machine, a 1980s vintage drum set and a $250 Champion Fitness gift certificate.
Food will be provided by Runt’s Bar-B-Que and Charlie’s Chicken.
Characters from Muskogee’s Princesses 4 A Cause will meet people at the door.
Princesses 4 A Cause founder Marcella Paige said the group is made up of teen volunteers who dress up as fairy tale princesses and superheroes. She said they attend benefits and special events. They also visit children in the hospital.

Muskogee Princesses (and superheroes) 4 A Cause will greet people Saturday afternoon at a benefit at Three Rivers Museum.

“It’s amazing, all the kids that participate in the events,” Paige said. “When they should be going to the movies or going out with friends, they stop all that and volunteer, just to bring joy to the kids. That’s amazing.”
Watson’s sister, Angie Rush, said friends and family are conducting the fundraiser. She said her brother was born with one kidney, which has failed.

“They’re doing the fundraiser to raise money to not only get a transplant, but also help with pre-expenses and post expenses, plus, any medical expenses his insurance does not cover,” she said.
She said the family must make frequent trips to Oklahoma City, where the transplant team is.

Trick roper and humorist Marty Tipton, “The Oklahoma Kid,” does a variety of lasso spinning stunts. He will perform Saturday at Three Rivers Museum.

Rush said her brother is in good shape, despite his kidney failure.
“He graduated from Muskogee High School in 2013,” she said, adding that he worked at Wal-Mart in Wagoner for a few years until his health began to deteriorate.
“It makes a big difference for him to get the treatment he needs and the medicine he needs,” she said.

ROPES THAT LIGHT UP TO ROPE IN THE DARK

You can now rope in the dark.  Developed the first rope with light inside but they were to delicate and could not withstand the beating I give the rope while spinning, until now.

Iv invented a new rope you can spin and catch with and is extremely sturdy. Here I’m testing out the new durable rope for the first time. The test was a huge success and is going to look great on stages across America.

Remember you seen it here first. Marty Tipton

LARGEST FARM-FOCUSED, FARM-LED CONVENTION IN THE WORLD ~ “COMMODITY CLASSIC” ANAHEIM CALIFORNIA

Blind Joe form THE VOICE & Marty Tipton the OKLAHOMA KID

IMG-5831

Great to get to perform for National Corn Growers Association at the Awards Banquet and at the Commodity Classic.  Being a farmer on Lucas Farms made me proud to support farmers across America and renewable fuels.

Commodity Classic had 12,000 guest and is America’s largest farmer-led, farmer-focused convention and trade show—unlike any other farm show you’ve ever seen. Investing a few days at Commodity Classic will pay dividends on your farm all year long!

FOR OVER A DECADE I HAVE BEEN VISITING THE CHILDREN AT THE O.U. CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

For over 10 years I have been visiting Children’s Hospitle at OU Medical centet many and I bring trick ropes and toys and play with the children.  Iv been blessed to brighten the faces of so many children. I have had parents see me later like one time in Chicago Pizza in Mid West City this big man with a big beard just walked up to me and give me a hug. I was a bit taken back, then he said thank you so very much for visiting my daughter in the hospital and he went on to tell me that she had fully recovered.

On another occasion I had a parent email me a very kind letter. She said her daughter who’s being treated for cancer headed got out of her wheel chair in 3 months and after I left that day I left a trick rope with the young cowgirl and her mother thanked me for that gift because her daughter got out of her chair because she wanted to learn how topspin the rope for her self.

I had some amazing experiences working with the children there, Iv even been allowed to visit the Transplant sections were the children are housed in glass rooms under close observation and not exposed to the outer world for extended periods of time. And all they want is to be held and comforted and brought a smile.

It is sad at times as well though. Some parents try and try to ring in their children for dialysis but after some traveling across the state they run out of travel funds so the children are left at the hospital, some very long time without any parents or family to visit.

The first trip there was the hardest. Kris Steel a close friend of mine who was a State Representative helped me start visiting Children’s over a decade ago and I still visit as often as possible.

Iv meet the real heroes who volunteer at the Medical center and some of the volunteers have been there practically full time for over 20 years for thousands of hours.

May Prayer for the children is that the Lord bless each child their and may they not suffer or be leanly or scared and that they have joy in their hearts and see hope in other and I hope to put a smile on their faces for many years to come.
